The church of Sta Maria de Betancuria was rebuilt in
1691.
Betancuria the former capital of Fuerteventura
-one of the islands of province Las Palmas GC in Canary
islands- is located in a valley beside a dry river
bed. The town was founded in 1405 by the normand Jean de Bethencourt,
